Lake Eola is known for being picturesque, Live Swans, Swan shaped paddle boats, the weekly Orlando Farmers Market and amazing events held throughout the year. The Allen Memorial Fountain is located near the center of the Lake Eola and for just $15 per person you can take a Swan boat right out next to it.
The original Lake Eola Fountain was in place from 1912 until 1957. In 1957 for the sum of $350,000 it was upgraded to the Centennial Fountain. In 1966 it was renamed Linton E Allen Memorial Fountain which is how it is referred to today. The lake Eola Fountain pump creates 3,000 pounds of suction in order to spray the water approximately 60 feet high.
That would be the Walt Disney Amphitheater. This is more than just another beautiful sight along the lakeside trail. You will see all types of activity here. The Walt Disney Amphitheater is where you will see bands, plays and even movie screenings. There is usually enough seating just don't be tempted by the smell of good food and leave your place to someone else. Something is always cooking near or at the Walt Disney Amphitheater in downtown Orlando.
It is just under 1 mile to walk the entire loop that makes up the Lake Eola Park Trail. Many park visitors and those fortunate enough to live nearby will walk or jog around this great walking path each day. I believe it is at it's peak on those cooler fall days when the Orlando Farmers Market is happening. Parking is usually widely available. Try one of the parking lots with attendants. You can often get them for $6.
All around the lake you will see artwork. Namely sculptures unless you look close. Just a few of the attractions include the Chinese Pagoda, a rock garden, beautiful flower beds, the iconic fountain and of course Orlando's skyline. Look close as you walk around the lake. Or better yet walk around the lake twice. You may even see me out walking at lake Eola Park.
