January and February are the coldest months in Orlando Florida. January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 71 degrees during the day and 52 degrees for nighttime lows. February edges out December for the second coldest month of the year with 75 degrees during the day and 54 degrees for nighttime lows but just by one degree in the evening.
December, January and February are amazing in Orlando. Orlando temperatures at night are in the mid fifties and after experiencing the average low temperatures in Minnesota one year, I actually feel bad to even think that is cool. I will however occasionally break out a light jacket. During the day Central Florida as a whole if fantastic in the winter months.
As you can see the average high temperatures during our "cold weather" seasons are in the mid seventies? Compared to the average temperatures in the northern hemisphere I don't see how come people are not flocking to this area. A subtropical climate is fantastic in the fall and winter months. Not so much in August.
One of the reasons Spring Break brings so many people to Florida is the 20 degree temperature swing during the days. The other is obviously the beaches but a comfortable temperature swing of 20 degrees is perfect for 24 hour a day comfort. During the hot weather months the afternoon thunderstorms provide a welcome relief to prep you for the evenings.
Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando were built here because of the weather in Orlando. Somewhat insulated from hurricanes and tropical storms but still the Orlando area is tolerable during the hottest month of the year which is mid August. The Sun shines almost every day of the year making for some near perfect weather conditions. Temperatures begin to cool off in mid October just as hurricane season runs out. Visit Orlando any time of the year because the average low temperature is always just fine.
