Homes for sale in Florida are being searched for by people all over the world. Why? Florida is an incredible state with a sensible government, low taxes and a wide variety of places to choose from. Some consider South Florida to be the best place to live but i would disagree. I personally have lived in just about every part of Florida in the last 50 years and have witnessed the rapid growth and modernization of our wonderful state. First I will share a little about the different regions like South Florida, Northeast Florida, the Panhandle of Florida and my favorite part which is Central Florida. No matter where you purchase you will be happy you purchased one of the homes for sale in Florida.
I will have to admit I really enjoyed living in South Florida. One of the main reasons was meeting the love of my life there as she was born and raised in Boca Raton. Other than that I also love to fish and visit the beach. South Florida to me ends in the northernmost portions of Palm Beach County but the further you go south the more it changes. There is no place like Miami and I am actually glad there isn't. Traffic is atrocious and unless you like condos living downtown is probably not going to be a good option for most of us. The homes are just crazy expensive compared to many of the homes for sale in Florida.
Ft Lauderdale is getting a lot busier but still is nowhere like Miami. The beaches are also much easier to visit there and the fishing is still incredible if you are interested in that option. AIA runs up the Eastern Coast and is a great place to drive a motorcycle or convertible as there is plenty to see and enjoy on a beautiful day. There are some hideaway communities between Interstate-95 and the east coast with amazing homes for sale. You will probably be surprised to see the oceanfront homes north of Fort Lauderdale that are right on the beach. These homes can easily cost tens of millions of dollars and are some of the highest priced (worth it) among the homes for sale in Florida. My father in-law used to own several of them and our family still deals in higher end real estate. All of the real estate in South Florida sells in a day or so if properly priced so be ready to make an offer or get ready for your dream home to go to someone else. I have family in Real Estate here that are very experienced and have sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of homes. Contact me and I will connect you with them.
This is where our business is focused and yes this is where I live. Central Florida is an amazing place with everything to offer than almost anyone wants in a home. You can live in a beach front home and have either the sunrise or sunset each day. You can also live in a rural area on a gorgeous lake and be left totally alone. Whatever you are looking for I bet I can help you find it here in Central Florida. When searching for homes for sale in Florida we encourage people to search in the cities at the top of this page or located in the menu above. You will find thousands of pages covering the communities, cities, zip codes and tons more right here on this site. I wrote them all and you probably not find anyone who knows this part of Florida as well as I do.
Tampa is a love of mine. It is just such an amazing city. Tampa has a thriving downtown section, rural northern portion and some of the finest waterfront homes and condos in the United States. If you want to live in a waterfront home you can literally choose to have sunrise or sunset and occasionally get both. How amazing is that and how rare is that among the homes for sale in Florida? Professional sports, trendy areas like Water Street, cruise ships and just about every culture you can imagine is what you will find here. The hottest places to live are downtown, South Tampa and Davis Islands.
Orlando Florida is probably my second choice and where most of our business takes place. Orlando is of course the home of the worlds best theme parks and yes they are expanding and quicker than many people realize. Orlando is in a completely different altitude and wind zone than the coastal cities so we typically do not get as high of winds during the storm seasons. Home insurance is less expensive here for just that reason which gives them an advantage among the homes for sale in Florida.. Many people choose Orlando because you can easily be at the coast with a short drive anyway. Believe it or not there are actually hills just west and northwest of this city. The highest part of Florida is so close you can see downtown Orlando from it.
Orlando is a large and spread out city. On top of that there are very popular cities that border Orlando and most people who live outside of the area know nothing about them. Cities like Windermere Florida, Winter Garden FL, Winter Park Florida and of course Kissimmee Florida. Orlando has three areas which are the most popular to live in. Downtown Orlando, Lake Nona which is just east of the Orlando International Airport and Doctor Phillips which is where Universal Studios is located. Each area and city is unique and has different reasons to live in them. We all would prefer an interesting place to choose one of the homes for sale in Florida to purchase. A great Realtor like you will find at Wendy Morris Realty can easily answer your questions, or find you the answers to help you decide where to search. Think rural, that what most of the panhandle is. I lived in Destin which is the gem of the panhandle for around 10 years and loved it. However just a few miles north and it turns into Alabama. Pensacola is beautiful, Destin is incredible but that is just about it. Panama City is a Spring Break Town and other than that it is a little left behind as far as my opinion goes. Don't get me wrong there are some great places to live there and the lifestyle is really good just stay as close to the Gulf of Mexico as you can. I personally do not see why anyone would live in the Tallahassee unless they work for the state's government. All in all not the best places to view homes for sale in Florida.
Yes I used to live just south of Jacksonville Florida in an great place called Saint Augustine. We really liked it and lived in a beautiful home there which we actually still miss. The people there were amazing and if you like the look of this area then definitely look into it further. The history is great, prices are still somewhat reasonable and Jacksonville is a great modern city. The only thing missing there is a good football team. Homes for sale there can be lakefront, riverfront or even oceanfront. The condo market is probably inferior to the condos you will find in Tampa. The weather is somewhat colder here also since it is further north.
If you are 55+ you will have most likely hear of the Villages in Florida. It is a nearly 50 square mile area of just 55+ people living life the way they choose to live it. This city is located about and hour to the northwest of Orlando via the FL Turnpike and has so much to offer the 55+ population. If you like golf you may think you have already gone to heaven. If you want to live a specific lifestyle or have specific views you can find like minded people here. Social clubs are the norm and housing prices range from just over $250,000 to well over a million dollars. If you are interested we cover around 20 other 55+ communities and can certainly help you find the one that is perfect for you. We are very familiar with the 55+ interest in the homes for sale in Florida.
I could live anywhere I want in Florida. Where do I live? Central Florida and I live here because the weather is incredible, the housing is affordable and still very nice, the kids love the parks and the area is just modern enough. All in all this is where I suggest you look for investing or for living in the near future. You cant go wrong with homes for sale in Florida.
