Lakeland itself is located between Tampa Florida and Orlando/ Walt Disney World. The drive to Tampa or Walt Disney World Property is around 25-45 minutes.
Leesburg Florida is in Lake County Florida and located just to the south of The Villages. Although The Villages is the largest 55+ community in the world not everyone wants to live there. Tavares FL is the county seat for Lake County FL. It is also recognized as America's Seaplane City. Why? Well you have so many options for taking off and landing. There are a lot of lakes in the Tavares and Leesburg FL area. These two cities border one another and both are a fisherman's dream. Of course those lakes are also great for seaplanes, recreational boating and of course just looking at from your mobile home. Yes there are mobile home communities on the lake and there is plenty of land in the area to purchase and place your mobile home on.
Winter Haven Florida is not as well known as it should be. The reason is it is a little bit south of Interstate-4 and just to the west of US-27. Winter Haven Florida has a lot more lakes in it that Lakeland does. Winter Haven is loved by many 55+ people because of the cost of living, local medical care and how incredibly nice the city is. Now with a population of over 50,000 residents you can rest assured there is also shopping and dining everywhere you look.
