There are a few gated communities in Tampa Florida. Often instead of gated communities you have gated estates. Most of the communities which have gated entries are located in Northwest Tampa. However this is atleast one famous one in the northeast and a few gated homes in southwestern Tampa.
When I made the video above I had no idea that in just a few years it would have tens of thousands of views. Soon enough it will have 100,000 views. I was just out having fun and explaining how the different gates work. Yes communities have all different kinds of gates. More and more neighborhoods are opting for virtually guarded gates because of expenses. If you have a guard at your gate 24 hours a day you can expect a pretty high HOA unless you live in a community of 75 to 100 homes.
My community has a switch like a garage door opener. Some have magnetic window stickers like our Turnpike Pass system. Others you pull up and call a call center who ay or may not scan your driver's license. My son lives in one where after numerous visits I simply scan my license and get in.
When you are leaving the sensor will either notice your car's movement, weight or even electrical field. For those of us who ride motorcycles place a strong magnet on the bottom of the frame if you are having problems. Your welcome, it took me quite a few trips to the airport parking garage and dealing with traffic lights that refused to change for me to figure that one out.
There are lots of people who do not think gates lower crime. I personally believe they do although they will not slow a determined thief. What they do is drastically cut down unwanted traffic which makes it safer for children, pets and people who ay need to be watched after. I set for hours working at home sometimes and do not see any traffic other than Amazon deliveries. When my cat or dog gets out I am fairly certain they will not get run over etc.
For those wondering the Amazon delivery, pizza, plumbers etc will all be able to get in. We have a changing code to give out when they call us from the gate. Other gates allow residents to hit a code to open the gate. The code is periodically changed for security purposes.
There are only a hand full of these. Unless you are planning on spending $800,000 or more you will need to look at North Tampa. About 85% of the homes that have sold in the previous 2 years have cost over a million. One was almost $8,000,000. However SW Tampa is the hot ticket if you like high end real estate. If you are interested reach out to me. I would like to assist you with the area. Some community names are Culbreath Isles, Harbour Island and West Shore Yacht Club.
Allora and Avila are the two largest gated communities. Allora has a fairly high volume of sales. Avila is a luxury home and golfing community. You will not see a much nicer community than Avila that is land locked. Allora is a newer DR Horton community. Dr Horton builds a very nice home are one of the very few builders that build their two story homes concrete from ground to roofline.
Hunters Green and Tampa Palms are your best options. There are a couple of smaller communities but gated communities are just a little rare here.
