Yes Orlando has a beach. If you are referring to the greater Orlando area it does. Would I go to it? Probably not but there are some amazing artificial beaches with clear water and rides. namely Volcano Bay at Universal. Other than that you will have lake water which is just not the same.
Not only can you just lay on the beach there all day and eat and drink the wave pool is absolutely perfect. The rides are suitable for adults like the best rides in Walt Disney World, decent wait times and great food is available. I absolutely love it there if you go with the right crowd. If you take youngsters then if you focus on them you will still have a blast. There are separate parts which focus on entertaining them. If you have not been, then go to Volcano Bay. If you can afford it then consider renting a cabana etcetera for the luxury treatment of a lifetime.
The beach show above is the best natural beach in the greater Orlando Florida area. It is in Clermont Florida and it has a really nice downtown area within walking distance. The chain of lakes there is amazing but as you can see the water sports there are probably more like skiing and fishing than swimming.
Looking for soft white sand beach? Think Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach and others around the Cape Canaveral national seashore on the East Coast and the Atlantic Coast. These will be the closest beach and will include other attractions like the Daytona International Speedway, Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach Pier and of course bike week if your so inclined. generally speaking these are family friendly beaches near Orlando Florida, the City Beautiful.
Clearwater Beach and St Pete Beach which is also known as St Petersburg Beach are the best within a 2 hour dive. They are on Florida's Gulf Coast and are the finest beaches in all of Florida. Surprised? Don't be they have the awards to back it up. If you just want to take a few beach breaks head toward Vero beach of Cocoa Beach. Daytona Beach is closer to Downtown Orlando and all have white sand.
However if you are looking to spend some time at amazing beaches with beach amenities and the quintessential beach town adjacent to it then head to Clearwater Beach and St Petersburg Beach west of Tampa. The finest beaches in Central Florida and barrier island beaches as well.
