Yes you can walk around Lake Eola. The walk around the lake is .9 miles or just under 1 mile if you stay on the actual trail which is a paved walkway. It may be hard to do that with all of the thigs to see and do in Lake Eola Park & downtown Orlando. After you finish your stroll around the lake take a break at the Relax Grill.
Thousands of park visitors come to lake Eola Park each day. They are the reason for all of the parking lots and why street parking must be paid for. The most iconic draw is the Fountain in the center of Lake Eola Park and of course it is framed by Orlando's Skyline. The choreographed light show in the evening is amazing. Another great thing is Lake Eola Park is pet friendly and with the condos around downtown Orlando walking trails for them are needed.
On the northwest corner you can rent a swan paddle boat. These swan boats are not electric they need human power. For those who are challenges there is one which is accessible. This swan boat is usually available. If not the time limits for their use is 30 minutes. The swan boats carry up to 5 people and up to 1,400 pounds. Usually only 2 go with each rental but sometimes an entire family will. Sound fun? It is a chance to get close to the fountain and have a unique look at the scenery.
The amphitheater is shown in the photo above. Once you see it you will never forget it. The most colorful way to view it is from the rear where the colors are boldest. There are many seats at the theater but they are reserved (roped off) for movie night, concerts and plays. This is a very nice park and the Walt Disney Amphitheater is a major contribution to it's culture and reputation.
I previously stated that Lake Eola Park is pet friendly. Although not technically pets there are usually hundreds of birds inhabiting the park and peacefully watching the park visitors walk by. There are live swans everywhere and other birds inhabiting the park around them for the whole family to enjoy.
There are beautiful flower beds and day or night there is a spectacular view to be had from anywhere along the path. Just find your perfect spot or continue your Sunday walking. Other activities include the many restaurants, the Orlando Farmer's market held on Sunday and a huge playground on the east side of the park. You can ride bikes, exercise choose your running distances and just get started. Have a great time on your walk around Lake Eola Park.
