The community and Big Sand Lake are just a 3 to 4 miles drive south of Universal Orlando Resort which is south of downtown Orlando. Because this community is on the west shore of the lake you must approach it from the west using Avalon Rd.

Sand Lake Point is a very large community consisting of approximately 444 homes making it one of, if not the largest in the area if you go by single family homes alone. There are several different types of settings for these homes. There are 64 lakefront homes (big Sand Lake), 3 lakefront homes on Lake Crowell and 35 waterfront (pond) homes.

There is also a boat ramp on the north side of Sand Stone Dr. and in the same location there are 2 tennis courts.  For those not familiar with the area Dr. Phillips Community Park is one mile to the south and has a great deal more to offer than any community park in this area.

The Lakefront homes on Big Sand Lake are on the following roads Brandon Cir, Fulton Ct., Gladwin Ct., North Fulton Ct. and Pointview Ct. There will be quite a few other homes on these streets with excellent water views. The lakefront homes vary in size from approximately 2,051 sf. to 8,000 sf. Most of these homes were built between 1988 and 2006 so even the 10-year structural warranties have passed. 

The remaining part of the community has homes varying in size from 1,889 sf. to 3,800 sf. of living space and 19-20 sell every year. The average community home was built in 1994.
