It is on the southern shore of beautiful Lake Down of the Butler Chain of Lakes. There is a lot of new construction going on in Windermere. Windermere is highly thought of for numerous things. Many beautiful Windermere FL homes for sale, various new shops and restaurants to choose from, its' local freshwater lakes, the modernization Horizons West is bringing to its’ Western parts and its’ history. Locally it is also admired for its' world class golfing and it's proximity to upscale shopping. 

About Windermere Reserve

Windermere Reserve consists of very few homes. 8 homes are waterfront homes on Lake Down. Normally there are not homes for sale here. Shopping restaurants and recreation of several types are within minutes of this community. If you are interested in boating there is a ramp for Lake Down 1/2 of a mile away. There are boat rental companies that will meet you at the ramp and provide you with a boat or a jet ski.

Local schools

Windermere Reserve are Windermere Elementary, Chain of Lakes Middle School and Olympia High School. Always confirm the schools with the county when looking at a home for sale. Information changes. If it is important to you I will check it. Or I can search for homes that are for sale by school zone. I am very familiar with the county website. I do not ever use the MLS for finding out which schools provide local education for a home or neighborhood.
