The Lakes of Mount Dora is a large 55+ master planned community of homes in northern Mount Dora. This community is scheduled to have 950 homes many of which will be built along the shore of the large pond in the center of the community. By large I mean lake size.

The homes which are being built vary in size from just over 1,500 square feet to over 3,200 square feet. The variety of homes, the settings and the appearance of the homes as well as Mount Dora are some of the reasons this community has been so highly acclaimed.

55+ Communities

As with most of the higher quality 55+ communities in central Florida the Lakes of Mount Dora are providing what the residents will want to stay active. As you enter the northern entrance you will be drive up to the 18,000 square foot clubhouse next to the main recreation area. The clubhouse contains a fitness studio, library, tennis courts, large community pool, Basketball, Bocce and Croquet courts and of course meeting rooms etc.

If you take advantage of the boat and RV storage available you will love the local lakes and the proximity to the open road. The Lakes of Mount Dora is roughly 1/2 way between both Interstate-4 and Highway 27. I personally prefer to take 19 north to Jacksonville. It is very close to the community and roughly follows the St. Johns River.
