Orlando has many Lakefront homes. After all Orlando has many freshwater lakes but by far the most famous of the lakes are in the Butler Chain of Lakes. However, there are many other lakes. Northwestern Orlando has Lake Orlando, Lake Fairview and a few other even smaller lakes but no lakes larger than Fairview. Lake Fairview has a surface area of 405 square acres and about 4.5 miles of shoreline. This is a decent sized lake to live on and you can get a nice lakefront home there for under $1,000,000. Most of the other Lakes are more like large ponds.

Northeast Orlando is rather broken up. If you eliminate the city’s name and just look northeast of downtown Orlando then there are a lot of lakefront homes. The lakes are smaller and you can get a nice lakefront home within a reasonable distance of downtown Orlando. The most expensive lakefront homes are definitely in Winter Park. Winter Park has lakefront homes costing over $7,000,000. Many opt for condos overlooking Lake Eola but there are currently close to 40 lakefront homes for sale within 20 minutes of downtown Orlando that you could consider NE Orlando.

Southwestern Orlando does have some nice lakes. Many of them are located inside of the Orlando city limits. The Larger more famous lakes are Lake Nona, East lake Tohopekaliga and Lake Hart. To the Northwest of Orlando International Airport is Lake Conway and Little Lake Conway. All of these lakes mentioned would be a good choice for lakefront homes. The question is what you would want to come with the lakefront status? Golf, commuting or just a great view.

Southwest of downtown Orlando is where the money is. The Lakefront properties are more abundant and pricier. However, the lakes are much nicer plus Universal and Disney are just minutes away. Not to mention the best golfing in all of Florida at Isleworth, Bay Hill and Keene’s Pointe. There are a lot of lakefront properties to choose from and you can spend from under one million to $30,000,000. Some of the most famous people in America call this area home.
