Bay Hill homes for sale are always available. Bay Hill in Orlando Fl is a Golfing community famous for it's golf course and luxury homes. It is a very large community that and contains many homes. Because of the large area covered it actually consists of several smaller communities that are intermingled. Bay Hill homes will often be side by side with Bay Cove Estates, Bay Hill Apartments, Bay Hill Marina, Bay Hill Village and Bay View. Each one of these subdivisions are actually found inside of the Bay Hill entrances.
The Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club and Lodge which includes the golf course is blended in with many of the streets in the community. This gives some stunning views for both the residents and the players. These intermingled streets and all of the streets in the Bay Hill community will be covered in detail in this article. It is my intent to help you know the Bay Hill Club and course better than 99% of the players, residents or Realtors who would say they are familiar with it.
Bay Hill is located in Orlando Florida although locally this area is often referred to as Dr. Phillips. For those not from the area the Bay Hill Club is 2 ¾ miles West of Universal’s Orlando Resort. The club and community are located on the Northeastern shore of Lake Tibet. The main entrances to the community are on the Western side of South Apopka Vineland Road. The entrances are plainly marked and they are not gated.
Arnold Palmer was not originally associated with the Bay Hill Club. The idea for this course was conceived before the 1960’s. Unlike in today’s world there were much fewer regulations and the development proceeded rapidly. The initial construction of the course began in 1960 and the first golf was being played just one year later in 1961. The course has been altered since it was originally built. Dick Wilson was the original architect and he was certainly no novice. He was and still is a very well-known course designer. His handy work is on display on 4 other very well-known courses in Florida and many more across America. Mr. Wilson is credited with designing 60 during the span of his career. He would pass away in 1965 just 4 years after the first golf was played at Bay Hill.
That same year one other important thing would happen forever sealing the fate of Bay Hill. Arnold Palmer played his first tournament at Bay Hill. Shortly after he decided that as soon as he could he wanted to actually own the course. Little did he know that he would have the opportunity just 5 years later. In 1970 he negotiated and took out a 5-year lease with an option to buy the course. I am sure inside of Arnolds progressive mind he soon was already redesigning some of its’ features. Those improvements were manifested in 2009 when Arnold’s company redesigned the entire course into what it is today. Changing its difficulty from a Par 71 to a Par 72 and extending the course to match the improved equipment used by modern golfers. Bay Hill is now a 7,196-yard course
Of course, we all enjoy comforts and no modern Golf club comes without other features. The Bay Hill Club provides three dining rooms. There is a complete spa, salon and fitness center, 6 tennis courts with professional coaching staff available and a complete marina. The marina even includes fishing and sightseeing guides on the Butler Chain of Lakes. The Bay Hill Club in Orlando Florida has everything you need.
Now on to the good part. We will be covering the community in more detail than anywhere online. Here is the reason. To be honest I am a local Realtor. I hope that you take advantage of my services and allow me to assist you in the purchase or sale of a home in this area. Secondly communities this large should be described in sections. The homes styles vary so do the settings and types of lots. After crating hundreds of community pages in my life and studying the neighborhoods I have found that to no ones’ surprise often buyers just prefer different locations in the same community. Sometimes just tree coverage can make the difference.
I will be listing all of the street names covered in each section so that they can be referred back to later. Then you can find a home for sale below and refer back to the section of Bay Hill that it is in. Just a couple of more points. When I say square feet of living area I mean only heated and cooled portions of the homes. Not garage spaces etc. I will be giving the market history for the last 5 years on each part of the community and sometimes combining similar streets to get enough data to draw a conclusion. All information is public information drawn from public record sources. If I use an address it is only being referenced to mark a geographic area nothing more is implied.
To make this description easier to follow along I will be starting off on the Northern end of the community. The Northern Border is N Bay Blvd and the large Steel Power lines that pass along Bay Hill’s Northern end. The cannot be viewed easily from the community and they are actually located in the North Bay subdivision. They cross over to the Isle of Osprey then go through Emerson Pointe to Isleworth and beyond.
The streets in By Hill that will be covered are the Northeast end of Masters Blvd., Bellmeade Cir., Brookline Dr., Lytham Ct. and Turnberry Ct.
First, we will cover the homes which are not on the course. The Eastern side of this part goes down S Apopka Vineland Rd. over to Brookline Dr. These homes are close to a busy street but are also close to the exits. Some of the homes are on the three cul-de-sacs giving them larger yards. Muirfield Ct. is similar to a cul-de-sac just laid out differently. The cul-de-sacs are on the East end of Masters Blvd., Turnberry Ct. and Bellmeade Cir.
The homes in this section were built in sizes ranging from 1,995 square feet to 5,168 square feet of living area. Most of the homes in this portion were built between the years of 1979 to 1996. There are some others completed as lately as 2006 but few. The age of homes is always important. Newer homes may have transferable warranties mandated by Florida Law.
In the last 5 years the homes in this portion have sold for prices ranging from $372,500 to $930,000. The $930,000 home is on the North side of Masters Blvd. and lowest priced home is on a cul-de-sac backing up to S Apopka Vineland Rd.
A smaller section that should be separate is on the North side of Masters’ Blvd and includes Lytham Ct. This portion is away from S. Apopka Vineland Rd. noise but still nor course frontage or view. I am separating them. These homes range in size from 2,978 square feet to 4,526 square feet of living area. They were built between 1981 and 1999. Most were constructed in the 1980’s.
These homes have sold for prices ranging from $415,000 to $920,000 in the last 5 years. There have also been 2 attempts by homes in this section to sell for over one million dollars but the market said no. The higher prices were on Lytham Ct.
Finally in this section we will be looking at the homes on the course's side of Masters Blvd. and Brookline Dr. This will also include homes on Classic Ct., Masters Ct. and Tarawood Dr. These homes have some incredible views of the Bay Hill golf course. Many of them overlook the largest pond on the course which I am sure has a few golf balls in it.
The homes on this portion of the course were built in sizes ranging from 2,710 sf. to 6,834 sf. of living space. Plenty of room to live or entertain. The homes were built between the years of 1978 to 2008. Even in the late 1970’s a great location was appreciated.
In the last 5 years homes in this portion of Bay Hill Orlando Florida have sold for prices from $475,000 to $1,649,500. It seems that not only the view but the quality of the home do make a difference. There are some homes with really good views for under one million.
The lakefront homes do not all face the water. Some of them only have lakefront property. The homes on Lake Tibet do have boat docks/ piers but some of the docks are from 100 feet to just over 300 feet from the homes. Still the homes with their back yards facing West get that Lake Tibet sunset every evening. The streets in this section are Masters Blvd., Mid Pines Ct. and Pine Valley Dr.
The waterfront and lakefront homes here vary in size from 3082 square feet to 7,955 square feet. These homes were built between 1984 and 2013. The homes have sold for prices ranging from $730,000 to $2,700,000 in the last 5 years. There have been two attempts to sell for more.
This next portion of Masters Blvd. starts at 6064 Masters Blvd. and goes South to Houston Pl. These will only be homes on the course. The Lakefront homes to the West will be addressed separately.
There are some very nice homes on this portion of Bay Hill as well. The views are of a slightly more hectic portion of the course but some people will like that more. At the South end of this portion is The Masters Condominiums.
The homes on the course vary in size from 2,252 square feet to 5,800 square feet. No unusually large homes but still some very respectable properties. These homes were built between the years of 1970 and 2002. In the previous 5 years homes here have sold for prices ranging from $545,000 to $1,300,000. The $1,300,000 home is probably one of the top 2 homes in this portion.
There are some homes on the West side of Masters Blvd and on the North side of Houston Pl. These homes should be priced a little differently because they are not on the course or the water. By the way I am not a licensed appraiser. However, I was at one point certified with the National Association of Broker Price Opinions. I have been paid by banks to determine the value of homes.
The homes on the West side of Masters Blvd. and Houston Pl. range in size from 1,597 square feet to 4,600 square feet. They were built between 1970 to 2014. In the last 5 years these homes have sold for prices ranging from $226,000 to $699,000. There have been attempts for prices up to $1,295,000 but the market did not provide a buyer.
To the West of this section there are some lakefront homes and properties on Lake Tibet. Most people never drive over to them. Lake Tibet is an incredible lake and a full fledge member of the Butler Chain of Lakes. It has a surface area of 1,070 square acres and connects via channels to some other lakes of notoriety in this chain. If you have a shallow running boat you can also find some other interesting ports. This lake is more than large enough for just about any water sport and a lifetime of fishing.
There are some incredible homes on Lake Tibet. The homes in this part of Bay Hill are not as grand as some of the homes on the lake but they are still very nice. They range in size from 3,746 square feet to 8,798 square feet of living space. Very respectable numbers for lake homes. The homes were built between the years of 1983 to 1989 with a couple of exceptions. The homes have sold for prices ranging from $1,200,000 to $2,400,000. There has been one attempt to sell a home for over $12,000,000.
As we proceed Southward in Bay Hill Orlando Florida. I will need to go back to the Eastern side of the course at this point. I will pick up where the first section ended on the south End of Brookline Dr. This first portion is only golf front homes on Tarawood Dr., Birkdale Ct., Levalley Ct., Gladdin Ct., Green 1 Ct. and Barrington Ct.
The homes in this section of the community were built in sizes varying from 2,213 square feet to 8,200 square feet of living space. The homes were built between the years of 1970 to 2017. In the last 5 years 9 homes here have sold for prices ranging from $427,000 to $1,900,000. Even though the homes are nearby one another they can have drastically different views and home sizes.
This part does not include Bay Hill Village. It does go to the edge of that community and does include all of the non-golf course view homes in this section. Bay Hill village is a nice gated community but the homes have a brick wall separating them from the course. I do not consider them golf course front or view homes. These homes will all be on Birkdale Ct., Gladin Ct., LeValley Ct., Medinah Way, Royal Birkdale Ln. or Tarawood Dr.
The homes in this section of Bay Hill range in size from 2,043 square feet to 5,628 square feet of living space. The homes were built from 1973 to 2011. In the last 5 years there have been home sales recorded with sales prices ranging from $290,000 to $995,000. There have been attempts for over $1,000,000 on Tarawood Dr. but have failed to find buyers at that price point.
The southern end of the Bay Hill golf course has some great golf views but not as spectacular as the Northern or center sections of the course. It is also a lot smaller. So, I have isolated all of the remaining golf front homes into this section. All of the homes are on the course there are no exceptions. The streets they are on are Bay Hill Blvd., Cheshire Ln., Dartmoor Ct., Donegal Dr., Harbour Town Ct., Ridge Pine Trail and Shawn Park Place.
The homes on the Southern end of the Bay Hill course vary in size from 2,166 square feet to 5,712 square feet of living space. The homes in this portion were built between 1965 and 2002. Do you remember what happened on this course in 1965? Arnold Palmer played his first tournament here.
The homes here in the last 5 years have sold for prices ranging from $445,000 to $950,000. One home tried over $1,000,000 but failed to sell at that price point.
Next up is a large section of homes which are not golf course frontage or view. They are community homes on the Eastern side of Bay Hill on Arbor Gate Ct., Bay Hill Blvd., Bridel Ct., Cheshire Ln., Donegal Dr., Glenview Ct., Harbour Town Ct., Indian Meadow St., Lyric Ct., Orange Hill Ct., Rustic Gate Ct., Tulip Ct. and Wynfield Ct.
The homes on these streets range in sizes from 2,118 square feet to 7,650 square feet of living area. The homes were built between 1969 and 1989 with a few newer exceptions. In the previous 5 years 76 homes have sold for prices ranging from $294,500 to $990,000. Two attempts have been made for over one million dollars that failed.
Now back to the West side of Bay Hill. We are going to look at the remaining Lakefront homes on Lake Tibet in Bay Hill. This will include some very expensive real estate and stop at the gate of Bentley Park. The streets the lakefront homes are on include Bay Cove Ct., Bay Point Dr., Crichton Wood Dr., Cypress Cove Dr. and Easterling Dr.
These homes vary in size from 2,860 square feet to 8,852 square feet of living space. They were built between 1972 and 2016. There are some beautiful homes in this portion of Bay Hill. Great locations, beautiful lake and very low trafficked. In the last 5 years there have been 41 lakefront homes sell in this portion of Bay Hill from $900,000 to $2,675,000. 4 attempts for higher amounts up to $3,295,000.
Now for the last part of the Bay Hill Orlando Florida community. This part has no waterfront homes or golf course front or view homes. Just nice homes in a golfing community. The streets that the homes are on are Bay Cove Ct., Bay Hill Blvd., Crichton Wood Ct., Crichton Woods Dr., Cypress Cove Dr., Easterling Dr., Islesworth Ct. and Ridge Pine Trl.
South Bay also has some homes mingled into this area but the streets I listed all have at least some Bay Hill homes on them. Since that is my primary focus I will exclude the South Bay subdivision homes.
The homes in this Southern portion of Bay hill range in size from 2,087 square feet to 5,443 square feet of living area. The homes were built between the years of 1972 to 2014. Most of the homes seem to have been built in the 1970’s. In the last 5 years 36 Bay Hill homes for sale have sold in this part. They sold for prices ranging from $279,000 to $1,135,000.
The public schools that provide education to the residents of Bay Hill are currently Dr. Phillips Middle School, Southwest Middle School and Dr. Phillips High School. I highly suggest you always confirm school information with the county. You can do that here.I never trust MLS data when it is so easy to just confirm with the county.
