Oxford Moor Windermere Fl  

Oxford Moor is a gated community in Windermere Florida. Oxford Moor and its’ only entrance is located on Winter Garden Vineland Rd. The entrance is a large and beautiful one and the community is surrounded by a red brick wall. There are two community signs which are clearly visible. If you are from outside of the area this community is located Just West of Lake William.

Oxford Moor is a community of 85 homes. It is a gated community and uses video surveillance. If you do not live in the community then you must present photo ID to a camera and speak to a guard over an intercom. It really is a good system and I have never had a problem with it. From the gates you can see the huge pond and fountains that are Oxford Moors’ centerpiece. The pond is bigger than some local lakes. It measures 1,750 feet from North to South. There is a community park on the Western side of the entrance. It has a nice children’s play area and 2 tennis courts.

The community has faced some challenges of late but greater things are coming. The advent of the construction of Windermere High School took away from of the natural serenity. The Orange groves to the neighborhoods East are now being removed and are scheduled to be replaced with a beautiful shopping complex. That may very well have a positive effect on an already spectacular community.

  I will describe the neighborhood in great detail. I am a big fan of Oxford Moor and live fairly close to it. There are things which seem to affect the pricing in communities. Obviously most of us prefer to be located on the water. Some prefer corner lots etc. Before I start I want to share a little on my numbers and method. I am not an appraiser. I have however been paid by banks to price homes.

All of my numbers will come from public information. All of it will be approximate but sometimes gives valuable insight on communities. By the time you finish you will know about Oxford Moor than many of its’ residents do. I will give the approximate square footage of the homes in each section, years of construction, and sales history.

First let’s look at the homes that now back up to the Windermere High School. Not everyone in Windermere was excited about the new school. Every home located on the West side of Oxford Moor now has a high school on the other side of the wall. That is not a negative thing for many buyers but for some it is. I love high school sports and occasionally still go and watch. Living there would not be an issue for me. If you see Oxford Moor homes for sale on Oxford Moor Blvd. with odd street addresses between 5507 and 5639 there is a really good chance that home backs up to the school.

Homes on the West Side of Oxford Moor

These homes were built in sizes ranging from approximately 3,258 square feet to 5,154 square feet of living area. When I say living area I do not include garages etc. Only heated and cooled portions of the home. As you can see these are large homes and rest assured they are very nice. Most of the homes have been very well maintained and look like new. Most of these homes were built between 2003 and 2005. In the last 2 years 5 of the 16 homes in this section have sold. The homes sold for prices ranging from $531,000 to $625,000. Previously no home in this portion of Oxford Moor had sold for less than $565,000.

Homes on Winter Garden Vineland Rd.

There are 6 homes which back up to Winter Garden Vineland Rd. As you can imagine some people prefer not to have their homes back up to a busy street. In all fairness there is a large red brick wall between the homes and the road. Also, most homes today are cinder block construction and with tile roofs a lot of the sound is kept out of your home. These homes have actually been very stable and had a low turnover rate. For the right price I would live in one and so would many people. But rest assured this road is a pretty busy road at times.

There are only 6 homes on this portion. They are the odd numbers 5903-5933 once again on Oxford Moor Blvd. These homes were built in sizes from approximately 4,041 square feet to 5,600 square feet of living space and were built between 2003 and 20011. Two of the homes have larger than average lots.  The last home to sell here sold for $720,000 back in August 2013.

Community Homes in Oxford Moor

These are homes which back up to other communities. The great news is both of the communities Oxford Moor is next to are very nice. On the North side is Tilden’s Grove and to the East is Lake Cypress Cove. Both have really nice homes. There are just 22 homes here and most of them are gorgeous and have large yards. This is my favorite part of the community.

These homes were built varying in size from 4,096 to 5,508 square feet of living area. Definitely large enough for the average persons’ needs or wants. These homes were mostly built between the years 2003 and 2005. In the last 2 years only 2 homes have sold for an average price of $637,500.

Waterfront Homes in Oxford Moor

There are 41 homes with even numbered addresses on Oxford Moor Blvd. 3 of them are technically not waterfront but I am sure the sellers would say they area. They all have at least a good pond view and they are all very nice homes.

These homes range in size from 3,771 square feet to 6,997 square feet of living area. I believe all of the homes but 1 are over 4,000 square feet. The homes were built between the years of 2002 to 2009. In the last 2 years 6 of these homes have sold for an average price of $670,000.
