Highlands Reserve is a community of approximately 769 homes as of the day of this article. That makes it one of the largest communities not to be an actual city in all of central Florida. The central theme of the community is obviously golf and it is a lovely course. Located in one of the highest elevations in this part of Florida allows it to not be a typical flat course and it is lined with pine trees. Locally it is known as a walkable course as well. I listed the community on this site however because of its’ location and quality.

For those who love Disney or are looking for a good investment home which will rent out Highlands Reserve is a good option. The homes are affordable and there are so many there are always homes for sale and they are not very difficult to properly price. The community has a children’s playground, community pool and tennis court near its’ center on Highlands Reserve Boulevard. The amenities are not as great as in a resort style community and the course does not have as much to offer as many other local ones. What it offers is good housing, a good course and an affordable round of golf.

Highlands Reserve began construction in 1999 and most of the homes were completed by 2004. There are very few homes with water view and this is not a community or a course with a lot of ponds. The smallest homes in the community are 1578 square feet and have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and the largest homes are 3,825 square feet and have 5 bedrooms and normally 4.5 or 5 baths. Most of the homes have either screened in pools or hot tubs. Exactly what you want for Florida. Either to live in or to rent.

Berry Town Center is outside of the northern exit and has a Publix Supermarket so sundry items and food for the refrigerator or grill are never far away. The community is located on SR-27 which puts you within a few minutes of some good dining options. It is a 25 to 30 minute Drive to Universal Orlando Resort and just a 20 minute drive to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
