Yes there are fish in Lake Eola but no you cannot fish in Lake Eola. When the water temperature is best which is spring and early summer you will see several species of fish along the shores of the lake. Although there seem to be some prime fishing spots notice no one is fishing there.
Fortunately the city of Orlando has other fishing spots and plenty of other lakes. Downtown Orlando has many wonderful attractions and Lake Eola Park is on center stage. Thousands will walk the path around this attraction each week and on the weekends that will be thousands per day. The attractions are good enough you will not miss Lake Eola fishing.
The best way to enjoy Lake Eola Park is to walk the trail around it. The best way to enjoy the lake itself is to rent one of the swan boats you will find on the northwest side of the lake. It is near the Walt Disney Amphitheater which is the rainbow colored attraction shown above.
Feeding or touching the swans is taboo. Swans will eat some things that people feed them. Swans are not the friendliest of animals and they are large enough that they can frighten some people with their actions. It is best to just watch and photo them. They have been coming to the lake for around 100 years and usually up to 5 species can be seen here (seasonally). Australian Black Swans, Black Neck Swans, Royal Mute Swans, Trumpeter Swans and Whooper Swans may be seen swimming in or around the lake.
